Lots of get to this morning, but I'll start with former USF center Solomon Jones, a restricted free agent after three NBA seasons in Atlanta, signing a two-year deal with the Indiana Pacers over the weekend.
I covered five Pacers games in the NBA Summer League this month, and there was considerable buzz for the Indiana frontcourt of rookie Tyler Hansbrough and second-year pro Roy Hibbert. Now there's plenty being written about Jones and what he could add to the Pacers this season:
-- The AJC's Sekou Smith blogs on Jones' departure and why Atlanta didn't make a qualifying offer in allowing him to sign with the Pacers.
-- Smith checks in with the Indianapolis Star's Mike Wells, telling him that Jones is "an athletic shot blocker that's not scared of anything."
-- The Peachtree Hoops blog -- yes, there are a lot of NBA blogs -- fondly revisits the top 10 moments in Jones' three years in Atlanta.
-- The Pacers Pulse blog asks "Just how good is Solomon Jones?"
-- The NBA Roundtable blog isn't impressed, writing that Jones "is unlikely to become much more than he is ... I don't see Jones making much of an impact in Indiana."
