North Carolina junior point guard Ty Lawson earned another All-America honor, this time a first-team selection from Basketball Times. Senior forward Tyler Hansbrough earned a spot on the magazine's second team.
Lawson, the 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and MVP of last week's NCAA Tournament South Regional, was joined on the Basketball Times' All-America squad by Oklahoma's Blake Griffin (BT's Player of the Year), Pittsburgh's DeJuan Blair, Arizona State's James Harden and Kansas's Cole Aldrich.
Tyler Hansbrough, the 2008 Basketball Times' Player of the Year, was on the second team this year with LSU's Marcus Thornton, Davidson's Stephen Curry, Mississippi State's Jarvis Varnado and Utah's Luke Nevill.
Lawson has also earned first-team All-America honors this year from Sports Illustrated and CBS Sportsline.com. He was a second-team pick by the Associated Press.
